Ultimately, it extremely difficult to competently staff this GastroPub whilst maintaining standards without significant proprietor input. This venue would greatly reward working owners. This GastroPub has a top reputation with a significantly expanding customer the base with 500 homes being built within 1/2 mile and another 2 phase of 500 homes each planned; a heritage centre and a new road layout directing all main trunk road traffic past iconic Rose medieval building.
One of the major factors affecting a restaurant’s viability is the impact of over or double charging by suppliers & dishonest or incompetent service providers.

Entirely incompetent, dishonest & nasty Cornwall Electrical Services Leon James deliberately disabled £5,000 high tech kitchen equipment and removing fuses from power tools & breached a fire safe compartment out of either incompetence or malice or greed; he then went on to post 1* reviews; verbal & physical harassment with false allegations to the police ‘corrected’ with CCTV; AVOID like the plague. Utterly incompetent he relies upon sub contracting out but will [at the end of the job] pull out all his yellow pristine tool cases stacked up for 5 minutes before packing away again; crazy; if ever tempted you should ask for references. Is known for a history of theft from client premises.

Incredibly lazy; grossly incompetent; too arrogant to accept training. All the signs were there but Nick was given the benefit of doubt not least because he promised belief in his home town and excitement at private investment in a public amenity. As at his previous job, Nick could not cook anything hot to order or any kind of timescale [unless ordered the day before] whilst arrogantly refusing any training. Nick could not string together 10x breakfasts nor 5x roast dinners nor 4x suppers in less than two hours. Nick was given 3 mths & over ££££ investment to train and resolve these issues but he was driven only by extreme laziness & anti-depressants; he wouldn’t cook bread without a bread oven; nor pizza without a dedicated pizza oven nor bake without a baking chef but he’d spend hours drawing up spreadsheets trying to create a sourdough recipe after refusing to use the one given to him it. He then attempted to sell rubbish cooking as quality. He was ‘carefully’ recommended by one lecturer at Pool, Cornwall College who subsequently then carefully admitted all the issues he had & ultimately withdrew their reference. Prozac defeats self-motivation or competence goals. His answer to his slow hot cooking was to run a combo oven at 300 degrees all day in the ignorant hope of saving a few seconds but all that was achieved was burning out the ovens PCB which cost the business over £7,000. Reference Ricky Fox, Cook/Chef?, incredibly stupid & lazy depressive unfit for work, after more than 5 goodwill chances, job terminated after Ricky vandalised fridge with £700 damage& refused to cook recipes as provided. We extended much generosity to give Ricky: a chance to make good after his claimed 25 years experience having not held a job down for longer than 6 months & having his former 3 contracts terminated. Prozac. In reality Ricky has likely been significant in undermining all the businesses he has ever worked for or owned even his own fish and chip shop and bakery. Ricky has the intelligence and ability of a competent 11 year old; a ‘chef with 25 years experience’ that doesn’t know how to cook a burger or a steak or fish & refuses to cook anything vegetarian; does not know which spices go together. A pile it high make it big- eat it quick; can’t taste; dishonest; failed team worker insidiously falling out with everyone. unfit for work; Too arrogant to take instruction too stupid to learn; sacked after 5 warnings & 5 resignations. After dismissal, Prozac was mentioned; stock went missing & crockery was borrowed, Ricky ‘stole’ his wages every day. Ricky drove customers away with idiotically unreliable cooking.

So dishonest that he lies to himself even stole a gift from his mu to his brother to buy a car even though Rose offered him one for free! Years out of date impotent bangers and mash chef driven by money and very little else promising everything but hopeless without loyalty or respect for the business; ultimately dishonest conspiring (when he wasn’t rubbish work colleague Ricky Fox) to work lazy. Stole his wages every day, made no effort to improve, arrogant without any whiff of quality & was then unreasonably bitter; stole steak weekly, his cooking became lazier daily: absolutely uninterested outside of high wages. Chris only put effort into monitoring online banking and repeatedly asking how the till worked to cover fraud.. Stole over £1500.

Psychotic liar; knew many tricks. Claims abusive parents suggesting to all eligible men to be ‘like a father to her’. We extended a major opportunity to have a well paid job but all we received was regular weekly thieving; giving ‘free pour’ drinks (one time her friends were left so drunk at £0 that they could not collect their car for 3 days which Danielle blamed on her innocent husband) & unwarranted refunds to customers in exchange for tips. Given so many chances to stop stealing then selfishly caused the business trouble through her D’ruth contacts having been a barmaid since 15yrs old. Unreliable; lazy; dishonest, mostly useless, consistent petty theft weekly.

His wife told us he’d never be able to do it; made the best lemon drizzle you might imagine; made great desserts, however, he took all day to make just one. His wife was quite correct. Like-able guy but with issues; utterly useless employee.

Bartletts Refrigeration: Called into adjust rinse aid take up top of range dishwasher; left the machine broken; ordered wrong part; when directed how to diagnose Bartletts mysteriously had ‘working but used’ part in van- where’s that come from then?; Conclusion: Bartletts cannot service nor repair; hopeless; dishonest.
